Saying goodbye to Nigel and Ros
On 1st November, Janet Ball led the residents of Morritt Avenue in a brief present giving ceremony for Nigel and Ros, who are sadly leaving us. They have contributed greatly to the wonderful community atmosphere we enjoy.

Rooksfield

This photograph was sent to us by Amanda Weir from New Zealand. Her Great Grandfather, Tom Jagger, who lived at number 3 early in the 20th century. Tom Jagger was born 08/09/1857 at Ridgend Farm, Fixby, Nr. Halifax. He was a farmer, turned businessman, moved to Leeds in the late 1890's and was a pub owner, horse drawn bus owner and piggery owner. He had a stroke and lived for some time before he died, early in 1923 at Rooksfield (or Rookwood) Morritt Avenue Halton Leeds. He is buried in Whitkirk cemetery Leeds.
